1. Introduction

Welcome to Farnham Ear Clinic, a private ear care service based within Farnham Park Health Group.  Farnham Ear Clinic is a trade name of Ishmail Boakye-Acheampong limited. Which is a CQC registered company. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our services, website, and clinic facilities.
By booking an appointment or receiving treatment with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding with any service.

2. Scope of Services

Farnham Ear Clinic provides professional ear care services including (but not limited to):

  • Ear examination and assessment

  • Microsuction ear wax removal

  • Irrigation (when clinically appropriate)

  • Dry removal and manual extraction

  • Referral advice for onward medical management

All services are provided by trained clinicians (GPs or specialist practitioners) in accordance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and clinical best practice.

3. Eligibility for Services

  • Patients must be 18 years or older, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Patients must be able to provide informed consent.

  • Patients with certain medical conditions (e.g. ear infections, recent ear surgery, or perforated eardrums) may not be suitable for specific procedures.

  • The clinician will conduct an assessment prior to treatment and may decline or defer treatment if deemed clinically inappropriate.

4. Appointments and Bookings

  • Appointments can be made online, by phone, or in person at Farnham Park Health Group.

  • All appointments are subject to availability.

  • Confirmation of a booking constitutes a contractual agreement between the clinic and the patient.

  • The clinic reserves the right to reschedule or cancel appointments in cases of staff illness, equipment failure, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, patients will be notified promptly, and an alternative appointment or full refund will be offered.

5. Fees and Payment

  • Fees for all services are clearly stated on our website and within the clinic.

  • Payment is due at the time of booking or immediately after the consultation, unless otherwise agreed.

  • Accepted payment methods include credit/debit cards, cash, or bank transfer.

  • Receipts are available upon request.

  • Prices are subject to change; however, confirmed bookings will be honoured at the rate in place at the time of booking.

  • The clinic does not currently provide services under the NHS; all services are private and self-funded.

6. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Refunds

  • Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a full charge.

  • Refunds will only be issued for cancellations made with more than 24 hours’ notice or in exceptional clinical circumstances.

  • If you are late for your appointment by more than 10 minutes, we may need to reschedule, and the session may still be charged.

  • No refunds will be issued for non-attendance (“no-shows”).

  • If treatment cannot be completed due to clinical contraindications identified on the day, the consultation fee may still apply.

7. Consent to Treatment

  • Before any procedure, the clinician will explain the purpose, process, risks, and potential outcomes.

  • You will be asked to provide verbal and/or written consent.

  • You have the right to withdraw consent at any point before or during the procedure.

  • Parents or guardians must provide consent for patients under 18 (where applicable).

8. Clinical Limitations and Risks

While every effort is made to provide safe and effective treatment, there are risks associated with ear procedures, including but not limited to:

  • Temporary dizziness or discomfort

  • Minor bleeding

  • Temporary hearing changes

  • Rare complications such as infection or injury to the ear canal/eardrum

All procedures are conducted with appropriate care, sterile equipment, and professional standards in line with NICE and CQC guidance.

9. Confidentiality and Data Protection

  • Farnham Ear Clinic complies fully with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Personal and medical information is collected solely for the purpose of providing healthcare and maintaining accurate records.

  • Records are stored securely and retained according to legal requirements.

  • Information will not be shared with third parties without your explicit consent unless required by law or in circumstances where there is a significant risk to your health or safety.

  • Patients may request access to their records in writing.

10. Professional Standards and Governance

  • All clinicians are GMC-registered medical practitioners or appropriately trained healthcare professionals.

  • The clinic operates under robust clinical governance, infection control, and health and safety policies.

  • All equipment is cleaned, sterilised, or single-use in accordance with CQC standards.

  • The clinic maintains full professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance.

11. Complaints and Feedback

  • We welcome all feedback to help us improve our service.

  • If you are dissatisfied, please raise your concern directly with the clinician or via our complaints policy.

  • Formal complaints should be submitted in writing to:

  • All complaints are acknowledged within 5 working days and investigated thoroughly, with a written response provided within 20 working days.

12. Liability

  • Farnham Ear Clinic accepts no liability for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from use of our services.

  • Our liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.

  • Patients are responsible for providing accurate medical histories and following post-procedure advice.

  • We are not liable for any adverse effects resulting from misinformation or failure to follow medical guidance.

13. Infection Control and Safety

  • The clinic adheres to strict infection control standards as per CQC and UK Health Security Agency guidance.

  • Clinicians use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Surfaces and instruments are cleaned and disinfected between patients.

  • Patients are expected to inform staff of any symptoms of contagious illness before attending.

14. Aftercare and Follow-up

  • Post-treatment advice will be provided verbally and/or in writing.

  • If symptoms persist or worsen, patients are encouraged to contact the clinic or seek medical advice from their GP.

  • Follow-up appointments may be recommended as clinically appropriate.

  • The clinic does not provide emergency medical services; in emergencies, call 111 or 999.

15. Use of Website and Online Services

  • The clinic’s website and online materials are for informational purposes only and do not substitute professional medical advice.

  • By using our website, you agree not to misuse or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems.

  • All website content is the intellectual property of Farnham Ear Clinic and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

  • Continued use of our services after changes implies acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with English law.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
